The Architect Pitch (video)

The Architect Pitch took place in the new Bartlett on April 27th.

The architects who pitched were:Feix & Merlin, Roz Barr Architects, Feilden Fowles, Ruff Architects, Holland Harvey Architects, Sam Jacob Studio and Draisci Studio.

The winning practice was offered the chance to work with London property developer, HUB.

HUB is currently delivering 1700 homes using a range of practices including Maccreanor Lavington, Studio Egret West and Shedkm. It describes itself as a design-led developer providing “aspirational yet attainable homes for hard working Londoners”.

The panel included HUB’s Managing Director Steve Sanham, CEO Robert Sloss, Jo Negrini, Chief Executive of Croydon Council, Ruaridh Nicoll, Editor of the Observer Magazine and property investor Simon Ringer.

Speakers


Robert Sloss is HUB'S Chief Executive Officer and a founding director of Squarestone, the real estate investment incubator that set up HUB in 2011. He has extensive experience in the fields of business strategy, creative funding and new business generation.

Jo Negrini is Chief Executive of Croydon Council and was previously its executive director of place. Jo has also established the council’s new housing company, Brick by Brick, to deliver new and affordable homes across the borough.

Ruaridh Nicoll is Editor of the Observer Magazine and has been a correspondent in Africa and the United States and the newspaper's comment editor, He is on the board of Create, a charity that explores the way that artists can contribute to the life of cities.

Simon Ringer was instrumental in the creation of the property fund management business of Charterhouse Bank (now HSBC) and has developed and managed a range of property funds at Jones Lang LaSalle Corporate Finance and PRICOA (now Rockspring).

Steve Sanham is HUB's Managing Director, and prior to joining HUB worked for Urban Splash and Argent. Steve looks after the day-to-day management of the business, from formulating business strategies through to engaging with public sector partners and local communities.
