Whether you’re presenting to a neighbourhood forum or a panel of judges, how to give a synopsis of your practice and get complex ideas over quickly and in an engaging way is an important skill to master.

The Architects Pitch is a unique opportunity to listen to seven architects trying out their pitching skills in front of notable panel judges and a live audience.

They have just 3 minutes each to pitch their practices. When all the pitches are over, their performance is assessed and advice given.

The panel includes David Barrie, social entrepreneur and TV producer, Reza Merchant, CEO and founder of The Collective, Inma Martinez, tech entrepreneur and investor, Del Hossain, MD of the Adrem Group and David Hamilton, an architect and senior member of the Malcolm Reading Consultants team.

Civic Architecture Office is a new practice set up in the school of architecture at UEL. It employs the unique ingenuity of staff, students and graduates to make architecture out of scarce and ordinary materials. It's not for profit, aimed at improving training and employment of graduates and students. It's particularly interested in working in the public realm, which is often the most demanding environment.

Gort Scott's founding principle of making a positive, imaginative and considered contribution to the built environment has seen them design a portfolio of projects ranging from leisure, retail, education, cultural and residential buildings to urban masterplans. Its experience of the planning process and informed use of technology and materials has led to repeat commissions from clients and their designs winning numerous competitions.

OS31 is a collaborative practice based in London and Sheffield. The studio was established by Tony Broomhead, Matt Pearson and Ross Jordan in July 2014 with the aim to develop architecture that is adaptable and engaging. Its work ranges from residential projects to landscape design, and temporary structures to interactive lighting. It has recently won a competition in Canada for a restaurant on ice, which opens this month.

Nex is a creative architectural studio, with an emphasis on research and technical innovation. Its work has received multiple awards in International competitions. Current projects include a new photography centre in Brighton, the transformation of the RAF Museum in London, and the Cadogan Cafe in Chelsea.

Neil Davies Architects is a young practice that is currently rebranding. It offers an enthusiastic and engaging approach, and its projects try to harness different qualities of natural light as the sun’s position changes during the day. It's currently working on the conversion of a loft office into a luxury apartment, a recording studio complex, and a modern extension to a 1930's semi- detached house.

RCKa specialises in socially responsive design, placing people at the heart of the process. Its community centre in Lewisham won a RIBA national award in 2014, and it was also named RIBA 2014 London Emerging Practice. It’s currently working for a wide range of progressive private and public sector clients mainly in London.

Featherstone Young is known for distinctive, people led and contextual architecture and it has delivered a considerable number of high quality buildings. It is especially experienced with working with small to medium sized organisations to deliver good value buildings to complex briefs, such as its SERICC Crisis Centre, Dellow Arts and Activity Building and work at Central St Martins Art School.
