Seven architects pitched problem-solving and entrepreneurial ideas to a panel comprising Usman Haque, founder of Umbrellium, David Weatherhead, design principal with HOK’s London Studio, Savannah de Savray, founder of Built-ID, Nick Searl, a partner in Argent Related and Safia Qureshi, founder of CupClub.
The panel was looking for self-generated projects that have the potential to develop into feasible solutions, from low-cost housing and ideas on how retail property can be recycled to one-off projects that have community or healthy living benefits.
As with previous pitches, architects had just three minutes to present, after which the panel gave their feedback and a winner was announced.
The architects were Amos Goldreich Architecture, Gbolade Design Studio,Miller Howard Workshop, HTA Design, Studio Bark, Turner.Works and Unknown Works.
Archiboo founder Amanda Baillieu said: “With this pitch architects showed how practices can move outside traditional roles through startup projects”.
Archiboo is grateful to HOK London for supporting this initiative.
